Midsummer Dream collection

Midsummer is a very special day to us Swedes. Having endured months and months of cold and darkness, the summer solstice is celebrated with intensity. Midsummer always falls on a Friday between the 20 and 26 June. Families go out to pick flowers and leaves to make wreaths and decorate a large maypole. The maypole is raised in an open spot and is surrounded by ring-dancing.

The nights around Midsummer are the lightest of the year. Legend has it that the night before Midsummer's Day is a magical time for love. On the way home, girls and young women are supposed to pick seven different species of flowers and lay them under their pillows. At night, their future husbands will appear to them in a dream.

The Midsummer Dream collection is inspired by the light that Midsummer brings and the colours of the early summer flowers many heads are resting upon on this magical night.
